Functions of epithets in Khakass and Altai poetry

The article deals with the problem of functions of epithets in Khakass and Altai poetry. Analyzes the lyrics A. Azarova, S. Satenova, P. Samyk, I. Kachaeva, B. Yacine etc. (Mountain Altai), M. Aranova, N. Domozhakov, I. Kotyleva etc. (Khakassia). Special attention is paid to such a trope as the epithet. The analyzed material shows that epithets help to depict the image of nature more vividly. Poetic works of Altai and Khakass poets bring up a careful and respectful attitude to nature, to the work of a rural resident.
