Functions of journalism as social constants

In a constantly changing world, journalism is also transforming. The change and even rebirth of its functions proves this. However, journalism can ensure its autopoiesis only if it retains the fundamental functions that identify it and constitute society. The purpose of this article, therefore, is to identify them. Some typologies of the functions of journalism are considered, as a result of which it is concluded that the basic functions that form journalism are information-communicative, socio-forming and culture-forming functions.
