Function of quantitative assessment of parallel fragments of Meng Haozhan’s poem "The song of returning to mount Lumen at night"

This work is devoted to the study of the parallelism function of Meng Haoran's poem "The Song of Returning to Lumen at Night". The scientific novelty is since earlier the syntactic parallelism of this poem was not investigated using analysis of immediate constituents. before Quantitative estimates of parallel paraments has never been obtained. As a result of the performed research, it is shown that in the poem under consideration, vertical symmetry prevails over horizontal. Parallelism is complemented by several antitheses. At the same time, the lyrical hero and the inhabitants, the silence of Mount Lumen and the noise during the river crossing, as well as the movement and peace that dominates the seventh line of the poem are opposed to each other. The article demonstrates the deep connection of the poem with the Taoist ideals of the poet.
