Subject of the article - universal philosophical and individually-author’s characteristics of concepts “life” and “death” in V.Woolf’s novel “To the Lighthouse”. The main subject - life in its’ time outflow. The work Purpose is a complex description of universal philosophical and individually-author’s characteristics of concepts “life” and “death” and their correlating concept “time” as a part of literary-linguistic world picture in the framework of the literary text of V. Woolf’s novel “To the Lighthouse”. Works of native and foreign scientists in the sphere of philosophy, cultural linguistics and linguistic semantics served as a methodological base. The basic method is a context analysis. Results of work contain the overview of universal philosophical and individually-author’s characteristics of concepts “life” and “death” and can serve as a further solution of the problem of these concepts’ interrelation. Scope of Results could be the working out of a special course on cultural linguistics. Output. Theoretical preconditions to the description of concept “life” and its antipode - concept “death” are indited. The conception of the world is created through the description of these concepts and, in this case, fiction model reflecting fiction type of consciousness is created.
