Gadget-mania and problems of personality development

Modern technological progress can’t be stopped. Today information technology and electronic gadgets have become part of our life and have caused changes in all spheres of human activity. Due to their main features, namely, portability, electronic gadgets are indispensable parts of the working process, they simplify daily life of people, they let you instantly connect to people in different parts of the world, etc. Along with adults they are actively used by children. And apparently, that's wrong, but the problem is that their immature mind is like a sponge absorbing all the good and bad that carry electronic devices, they replace real life by virtual one, they force out live communication and interaction with the world. Children lose their capacity for independent intellectual work, letting computer or other technical devices solve problems instead of themselves. Improper, unreasonable use of modern technical devices by children prevents from thinking, imagination, emotional and volitional development. Finally, it causes damage of socialization as a process of acquainting the younger generation with variety of experience accumulated by mankind. It doesn’t mean that it is necessary to prohibit children from using gadgets, but it’s necessary to teach them how to do it correctly. All this determine the urgency of this work.
