The article is devoted to the topical issue of gender education of senior preschoolers through introduction to the traditional Russian culture of family creation. The author examines the crisis of the family institution and analyzes the influence of premarital behavior on the strength of future family unions. The article emphasizes the role of education of traditional family values in preschool institutions and the importance of forming correct gender ideas in children. The author suggests using folklore as a tool for forming a positive attitude toward traditional gender roles, which helps to create conditions for gender-role socialization.
