The research has shown that the level of nitrogen oxide in females with STelevation of myocardial infarction (STEMI) is higher than in males. With age the gender difference in the level of nitrogen oxide in patients with STEMI disappears. Females and males with diabetes mellitus had similar levels of nitrogen oxide. The females and males with STEMI had similar levels of endothelin 1. However, males with diabetes mellitus had the level of endothelin 1 higher then females with diabetes mellitus.
