Gender-specific preferences in youth tourism

The article examines gender differences in the preferences of young people in the field of tourism. The article analyzes a study conducted in the format of an online survey for boys and girls living in the Sverdlovsk region, revealing the characteristic features, types of activity and factors influencing the choice of travel destination. During the study, the preferred vacation destinations were identified. The most popular destination among the surveyed youth was Europe (35,8%), where female respondents were 24,8% and male respondents 11.0%. Women are more likely than men to use online websites and portals to search for information about vacations (12,3% vs. 7,6%). The importance of taking into account the gender aspect is emphasized in order to develop effective strategies for the promotion and adaptation of tourism products, as well as to increase the satisfaction of young tourists.
