Gender differences in the youth's image of a perfect partner

The article studies gender differences in the young people's image of a perfect partner. The empiric research of gender differences of the perfect life partner has been conducted using the "personal differential" technique (E.F. Bazhin, A.M. Etkind). In addition to the comparison of the three major scales ("evaluation", "power" and "activity"), the author has studied in detail valuable for young people qualities a spouse should have. It has been found that men and women have significantly different images of a perfect partner. The research results may be applied in practical work of psychologists and teachers for educational purposes, as well as to assist in creation, preservation and strengthening of marital relations of young couples.
