Currently, there is a significantly growing interest in gender issues. They are studied in sociology, linguistics, pedagogy, in the teaching of foreign languages and Russian as a foreign language. This article presents the results of a study of gender differences in the expression of emotions in the oral speech of Chinese students. The emphasis is on the use of different lexical means by men and women. Examples of words and phrases are given that reflect different emotional states depending on gender. There are significant differences in the emotional assessment of different events, the detail and range of expressed feelings and experiences, and the use of expressive expressions. The influence of sociocultural and biological factors on the speech behavior of Chinese men and women is discussed. The conclusion is drawn about the importance of taking into account gender differences when teaching Russian to students from China.
