Genealogical Research and Modern Databases (from the Experience of Searching for Information about the Military Past of the Ancestors)

The article is devoted to the possibilities of modern information technologies in searching for genealogical information on the example of databases posted on the Internet on the military activities of the population of the Russian Empire and the USSR in the 20th century. The author not only shares the results obtained by searching for information about her relatives, but also analyses the diffi culties encountered when working with electronic historical sources.
