Genetic thrombophilias and gestational complications

The article presents modern ideas about thrombophilias caused, among other things, by mutations of factor V Leiden (FVL (1961) GA) and prothrombin G(20210) A and their role in the development of not only thrombotic but also gestational complications. The leading role of activated protein C resistance, prothrombin activity, as well as comorbidity in carriers of these prothrombogenic mutations has been determined. A tactic of anticoagulant prophylaxis has been proposed in order to reduce major placenta-mediated complications in carriers of these mutations
