Scientific studies show that genetics plays an important role in the development of obesity. Genes can directly cause obesity in disorders such as Barde-Beadle syndrome and Prader-Willi syndrome. However, genes do not always predict future health. In some cases, genes can increase susceptibility to obesity, but in this case, the influence of the gene is not direct, it requires the influence of external factors such as poor diet or low physical activity. This article is devoted to the study of genetic factors leading to obesity.
