Genesis of the "living museum" concept in Russian museology

The article focuses on the ideas of the "living museum" formulated by Russian thinkers, culturologists and museologists in different periods of the formation of the Russian museum industry. The author conducts historiographical, retrospective and genetic analyses to trace the path of their emergence and development. The study clarifies the history of the formation of the modern Russian concept of the "living museum" and identifies its historical prototypes.
