The genesis of neomythologism: a philosophical aspect

The paper considers the ambiguity of the interpretations and approaches to the definition of the semantic fields of the “neomythologism” concept in the general field of philosophy. The authors of the study assume that the situation of ambiguity was caused by numerous controversial polemical judgments related to the interpretation of neomythologism in modern scientific theory. According to the authors, there is no conceptual approach in defining the phenomenon of this concept. This is due to a long period of time for studying the theory of myth. In this connection, the research aimed at clarifying the semantics of neomythologism, which is presented in modern science particularly in philosophy seems to be relevant. The article provides a comparative analysis and gives distinctive characteristics of myth and neo-myth as philosophical concepts. It concludes that it is necessary to formulate a comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon under study from the position of a philosophical approach.
