The genesis of professional art of Mordovian ethnic group in the Russian cultural space

The article analyses the evolution of the professional art of Mordovian ethnic group from its origins to the present. It emphasizes the special role of Russian cultural tradition in the establishment and development of professional Mordovian types of creativity, and draws attention to the strengthening of contacts with the artistic culture of the Finno-Ugric world within modern Russian cultural space.
