Basically, geometric figures are figures real prototypes of which are not known to us. For example, images of spearheads, harpoons, bows, arrows, tracks of snowshoes and animals are not categorized as geometric figures although they look rather abstract. Rock art of Fennoscandia comprises quite a large number of such unclear figures. Onega solar and lunar signs in decorative patterns are linked to animals and occupy the position that semantically should be referred to axe-rods. Crosses and cross-like figures in Alta petroglyphs are definitely linked to the images of reindeer and elks. Crosses in Kanozero are related with mythical characters. Figures that could be described as images of nets are associated with elks/deer rather than ichthyomorphs. Wheels can be linked to concepts of afterlife by analogy with the shape of stone constructions under burials. Based on typological series, oval and round figures with a dot inside are interpreted as images of the vulva. The same concept is used to attribute Wingen hooks and sickles to the group of axes-rods.
