Hermeneutic analysis of the concept of “eschatological hunger” in the discourse of modern apocryphal prophecies

This article analyzes the specific interpretation of the concept of “eschatological hunger” from the perspective of religious studies in the contemporary eschatological discourse. Currently, this concept is one of the most frequent in the discourse of “popular eschatology.” “Eschatological hunger” is described in various anonymous and pseudonymous eschatological prophecies, actively disseminated on various online platforms. The article examines the main hermeneutic patterns according to which this concept is interpreted. In conclusion, it is argued that the interpretation of the concept of “eschatological hunger” in the discourse of modern apocalyptic prophecies, popular in various eschatologically oriented subcultures, is in line with the basic tenets of mythological worldviews.
