Heteroethnic environment as a factor of individual's ethnic identity

The paper presents the analysis of the heteroethnic family as a factor in the formation of ethnic identity, as well as the mechanisms of this process, carried out in a multi-ethnic environment. The external factors that increase the importance of ethnicity in society and the factors determining peculiarities of ethnic identity in the process of socialization of personality are given: the homogeneity of ethnic environment, belonging to the majority or minority group, features of socialization, hetero - or homogeneity of the family, the implemented model of parenthood, etc. Special attention is paid to the concept and classification of inter-ethnic marriages and their influence on the process of ethnic identity of a child brought up in the conditions of interaction of the two cultures. The paper describes the features and types of ethnic identity that is formed in a multi-ethnic environment, as well as the possible results and consequences of the process of ethnic identification of people from inter-ethnic marriages.
