Hyper-hyponymic relations in the term system of the English sublanguage of biotechnologies

The article deals with the hyper-hyponymic relations in the term system of the English sublanguage of biotechnologies. There are defined the concepts “hyperonym” and “hyponym”. There are described the criteria of the revealing the hyper-hyponymic relations. The author presents the classification of the semantic relations in the terminology of the studied sublanguage. There are analyzed the structural organization and the potential of hyperonyms and hyponyms to enter the synonymic and antonymic relations.
