The article is devoted to study of word as a basic structural-semantic unit of language. The interpretation of Buryat word is given on the material of verb. The phonetic, morphemic, word-formative features of verbal words in the Buryat language are identified. The structural types of verbal words, differences between composite verbs and analytical forms of words have been defined.
