Verbs of speech activity in the context of the animacy / inanimacy categories in Mordvinian and Mari languages

This article deals with verbs of speech in the Mordvin and Mari languages as elements of the functional-semantic field animacy / inanimacy. Their categorization is given as a sign indicating the nature of the speech process / activity. Of the two main groups of speech act verbs with general and differentiated importance special variation sets one group off from the other. Verbs are divided into groups indicating speech process and means of sustaining that process, the latter of which is further divided according to notions of emotional saturation etc. The animacy of the subject or object of the speech act.
