The proposed article examines the issue of saving linguistic resources by the example of the functioning of verbs with incorporated actants in the Russian language. The relevance of the study is due to the need to analyze the phenomenon of incorporation in languages in which this phenomenon was not previously recorded, and if noted, only fragmentary. The object of the analysis is verbs with incorporated actants, the subject is the semantic potential of these verbs and its contextual actualization. The verbs under study include in their semantic potential the meaning of the instrument, which is realized in two forms - the objectified and the nonobjectified. The verbs in question are non-substantive, and their appearance in the language is due not only to linguistic economy, but also to stylistic factors. The methods of analysis were contextual analysis, interpretation, functional analysis (observation of the functioning of the studied linguistic units in order to describe their semantic potential) and descriptive method. Russian verbs with incorporated actants obtained by the method of directed sampling from dictionaries of the Russian language, the National Corpus of the Russian Language, the online search service Google Books Ngram Viewer served as the material for this study.
