State regulation of foreign direct investment in the banking sector of Russia: problems and prospects

The article is devoted to assessing the effectiveness of government regulation of foreign direct investment in the Russian banking sector. The theoretical aspect of foreign direct investment is revealed, the Russian practice of their regulation is analyzed: what legal acts regulate foreign investments in the banking sector, in what forms they can be implemented. The impact of existing measures on the share of foreign participation in total banking capital over the past 10 years is assessed, current problems caused by the regulatory policy of foreign banking investments are identified, and possible ways to improve it are identified.
