Gradual function of compound adjectives of colour naming in the Russian language (based on the novel “The slums of Saint Petersburg” by V.V. Krestovky)

The article deals with the gradual function of compound adjectives of colour naming in the novel “The slums of Saint Petersburg” by V.V. Krestovsky. There is identified that the adjectives are divided in two thematic groups (the man’s description and the environment’s description) and there are presented by three groups from the perspective of the structure.
