What is the driving force of the social and communication processes in the information and network society, where a person interacts not with real people and objects but with their electronic representations? This involves the competition of signs and symbols or the competition of their images, when electronic and digital images compete with each other for the attention of the network audience. What are the characteristics that help electronic and digital images compel the audience’s attention? The diversity of aesthetic and artistic means of expression and the visual character of image communication on the Net play a critical part in attracting the audience’s attention.
