The facets of consciousness in the formation of a subjective personality

The relevance of the work is due to the vague understanding of self-consciousness in modern philosophy, the need to systematize methodological approaches to its study, and to determine the ontological status of subjective experience. The aim of the work is to substantiate the importance of self-awareness in the construction of a holistic image of the world, in the functioning of consciousness, in the emergence of a unique subjective experience. To achieve this goal, four methodological principles of research were formulated: the principle of integrity, the principle of autonomy, the principle of correlational intentionality, the principle of ontological freedom. The novelty of the work and its main postulates was, firstly, a new integral definition of self-awareness as a sense of reality, significance and uniqueness of one’s own being. Secondly, the structure of self-awareness is proposed, which consists of two interrelated levels: external, which actualizes the schemes of interpretation of empirical information and the definition of significance for the individual, and internal, which contains basic, a priori intentions, logical mechanisms and representations that exist before thoughts, before reflection, forming the integrity of the Self, synthesized into a conviction about the presence of oneself in the concreteness of personal existence, which has unique characteristics. The conclusions of the work were the definition of the role of subjective experience, determined by the configuration of self-awareness, determining one’s place in being, in the genesis of motivation to create or structure ethos, values, social communities, and finding optimal communicative and social distance between oneself and Others. The results of the study create a methodology for further research of self-awareness as the basis of the genesis of subjective experience and allow us to reveal the logical and intuitive mechanisms of critical thinking.
