The "boundaries of childhood" in Victorian novel

Бесплатный доступ

The article analyses the problem of "boundaries of childhood", the parts of composition and plot, designating the child-character is becoming an adult, in the Victorian Bilgundsroman (or a novel about the child and childhood). Russian writers of the same period more often than not "separate" different periods of character's life with the death of the parents. The English writers, as it seems, pay more attention to the inner world of the hero and how its changes when he (or she) grows older. The most important changes include the ability to form one's moral principles, making choices and acting according to them.
