Civil-patriotic education of young students as a socio-cultural process

He article reveals the relevance of civic-patriotic education of a person, analyzes key concepts (civicism, patriotism, civic qualities, civic-patriotic education, civic socialization, etc.); the concepts of «citizenship», «civic qualities», «civic values», «civic activities» are clarified. Citizenship as a result of civic education, an integral part of a person’s culture and education is considered as a combination of civic qualities and is a social value for the development of society and the individual. Studies on civic-patriotic education are highlighted, methodological approaches (anthropological, axiological, integrative-activity) to civic-patriotic education are identified. The risks associated with civil-patriotic education and socialization of the individual are indicated. The pedagogical conditions that ensure the successful process of civil-patriotic education of youth are highlighted. It is noted that it is necessary to take into account the specifics and characteristics of the socio-cultural environment of the university and include student youth in a variety of activities. The results of a student survey allowed us to determine the most effective methods, forms and means of civic-patriotic education of youth.
