Citizenship of the Kingdom of Norway

The article presented is devoted to the study of Norwegian citizenship legislation. The work consists of two main parts. The first provides a general overview of the Norwegian Citizenship Act. The background to the adoption of the Norwegian Citizenship Act, subsequent amendments, information on the number and structure of those acquiring citizenship, disclosure of the main provisions of the law and individual features of the acquisition and termination of citizenship, attention to requirements, the requirements for naturalization of Norwegian citizenship, as well as the preferential acquisition of citizenship by different categories. The second part is presented by the text of the Norwegian Citizenship Act, translated into Russian by the author and adapted for scientific research. Some provisions of the law are accompanied by additional explanations and references to sources, which provide a complete picture of the legal framework governing Norwegian citizenship.
