The article considers one of the key conditions for the successful formation of professional competence of the future military aviation navigator. A key element of the condition is the joint interaction of cadets in the process of developing project assignments, which are based onreal professional problem situations that arise in the process of solving specific navigational tasks. This approach provides: deep mastering of basic professional competencies and the development of practical skills necessary for professional activity; stimulating the search for new approaches and strategies of interaction to solve complex professional tasks; increasing the complexity and accessibility of the educational process adapted to the stages of professional competence formation; encouraging initiative and creativity in finding solutions in teamwork. Cadets acquire new knowledge, develop skills and form a socially acceptable level of readiness for professional activities.
