Characteristics of the main morphometric and hydrochemical parameters of the lakes of the Amga district, Republic of Sakha (Yakutia)

Free access

The morphometric and hydrochemical characteristics of lakes located near the village of Chakyr in the 2nd Amga District Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) are presented. The results of studies of seven lakes of water-erosion and thermokarst origin are presented. Water bodies are categorized by surface area and shape, maximum depth, shoreline development (indentation), and water clarity. The predominantly elongated water surface and slightly indented shorelines are prominent, a characteristic feature of lakes in permafrost regions. The chemical composition of the water in the study areas is described, including the concentrations of key ions, mineralization, pH, and electrical conductivity.
