Description of the quality of life indicators in children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes mellitus

The diabetes of type 1 (DM1), as well as other chronic progressing diseases, not only leads to restrictions of physical activity, but also changes social and psychological aspects of life of patients. Study of integrated indicators of quality of life of children and teenagers with (DM1) is done. 200 patients have been included in research with (DM1) at the age from 7 to 18. For estimation quality of life the Russian version of questionnaire SF36 has been used. The general characteristics of lifequality indicators in comparative aspect with control group testified to decrease in general level of lifequality at patients with (DM1), both children, and teenagers in comparison with control group. The greatest influence on life quality at childrens and teenage age make psychoemotional features of patients, modes of insulin therapy, types of the relation to illness. The expressed changes of lifequality indicators which defined optimum adaptation in micro society, were registered in males.
