Characterization of the structural elements of choice

The article describes the results of the study, the purpose of which was to determine the content characteristics of the structural elements of choice. The investigation is based on the theory of decision-making and views of choice in existential psychology. In the article there is the author's definition of the concept of “choice”. Isolated and described the following structural elements of choice: assessing the situation of choice, vision alternatives, resources in a situation of choice, the instruments of choice, the needs of the subject of choice. Summarizes the characteristics of the structural elements of choice. Analyzed the degree of awareness of each structural element of choice The paper shows that the choice situation is psychologically uncomfortable to the subject of choice, most often associated with the sphere of interpersonal relations. The study found that alternatives in a situation of choice is often perceived as clearly defined as polar. We found that in a situation of choice can actualized as specific choice situation needs, and non-specific. The article explains that the resources involved in a situation of choice, can be internal and external, and tools of choice are mature and immature.
