Healing tourism as a part of medical tourism

The article examines the issues of a new trend in tourism - healing tourism, which is actively developing in the Russian tourism services market. In the modern world, the pace of life is constantly increasing, in the age of global digitalization, irregular life schedules and constant stress, people are especially susceptible to burnout. This is exacerbated by the coronavirus pandemic, the current unstable situation in the economy and world politics. All these factors lead to depletion of the human nervous system, which requires a comprehensive approach to restore. Healing tourism, as one of the types of medical tourism, is currently in demand and relevant, including among young people, due to the trend towards a healthy lifestyle. The author provides a definition of healing tourism, reveals its essence, identifies distinctive features and differences from medical tourism, provides data on the most popular destinations for therapeutic recreation among Russians, examines the state and prospects for the development of this type of tourism in the country. The author highlights the factors important to consumers when choosing this direction of tourism. The article analyzes the types and forms of providing services in this type of tourism at the present stage.
