The aim of the work was to study the chemical composition and quality of milk when adding additives based on modified diatomite (deposits of the Ulyanovsk region) to the diet of black-and-white cows. Production tests are organized on the basis of a dairy farm in Ulyanovsk district, Ulyanovsk region on dairy cows for 100 days. Two groups of animals with 50 cows were created, the 1st-control group received only the basic diet (OR), the 2nd group was added to the OR 250 g/head/day top-up based on modified diatomite. For the physiological experiment, groups of 5 animals were formed using analogs. All groups were in the same conditions during the experiment.
