Surgical and combined treatment of mesenchymal retroperitoneal tumours

Retroperitoneal tumours are rare and compose 0,01-0,3% of all tumours. Mesenchymal retroperitoneal tumours occur more frequently in clinical practice. In this study we present 63 cases of primary mesenchymal retroperitoneal tumours and 29 cases of recurrences. 42 tumours were resected with no residual tumours. 18 tumours were resected with no residual tumours and patients were treated by adjuvant radiation therapy. 5-years rate of patients with primary mesenchymal retroperitoneal tumours and recurrences after surgical exision with no residual tumours were 67,8±7% и 55,7±7% respectively. 5-years rate of patients with primary mesenchymal retroperitoneal tumours and recurrences after surgical exision with no residual tumours treated by adjuvant radiation therapy were 77,5±6,3% и 66,9±5,7% respectively.
