The article deals with issues of artistic synthesis in choral performance. The relevance of the considered problem is conditioned by the process of interaction between the performer and the listener in the interpretation of a musical composition. The material of the article are samples of choral works in modern performance of leading Russian choral groups. The purpose of the study is to identify the phenomenon of modern choral theater in its genre diversity. The object of the study - choral theater in the context of the synthesis of the arts. The subject of the study is the specificity of choral performance and theatrical forms in their mutual integration and interpretation in modern musical culture. The main theoretical methods of the study were axiological approach, comparative approach, method of analysis, synthesis, method of historicism, as well as observation and experiment. The results of the research show that polygenre is the most demanded form of the listener's perception of musical forms in choral performance at the present time. The processes of integration of choral art with other arts are closely connected with the creation of a new vocabulary of musical language and methods of its notation, which require additional knowledge and skills for its reading. It has been proved that in the interpretation of a choral musical work the synthesis of music, singing and movement creates a unique stage composition, which, while listening to it, makes the listener's inner world correspond to his own. It should be noted that with the use of the synthesis of choral singing, theatrical action and instrumental accompaniment, the concept of choral theater goes to another interpretive level, combining literary, theatrical, cinematic, mime, dance, semantic and technical techniques of related arts (opera ballad «Mary Stuart», cycle «Songs of the Troubadours» by S. Slonimsky, musical «Night of Open Doors» by E. Karmazin and K. Rubin. Karmazin and K. Rubinsky, etc.).
