Over the past three centuries Christian apologetics has faced criticism aimed at undermining the credibility of the New Testament accounts about Jesus and denying His divinity. Over the past decades this criticism has been consistently expressed by B. Ehrman. He named Jesus as a failed apocalyptic prophet whose mission ended in crucifixion by the Roman authorities. This article presents a critical analysis of the main lines B. Ehrman’s argumentation and demonstrates their inconsistency.
