Artistic concept of modern Chinese painting of “neorealism”

The article deals with the sociopolitical and cultural context of the development of the modern Chinese painting of neorealism. Based on the creative work of the outstanding painter of neorealism Liu Xiaodong there is analyzed the artistic concept of the works of the oil painting of neorealism. The author reveals the significance and aesthetic value of neorealism for the development of the Chinese artistic culture in common.
