Artistic and pedagogic activities of Stepan Erzya

The article expands the knowledge about Stepan Erzia as an artist-teacher, instructor and educator; shows the outstanding master's considerable contribution to brining-up several generations of artists who worked not only in sculpture and in other fields of fine arts as well. It is proved, that his activity as an artist-pedagogue was not occasional but an important part in his creative self-realization; its aesthetical and cultural basics are reconstructed. A considerable number of new sources, data, archival materials, Erzia pupil's names are brought into use.
