The analysis of the world of a short story "Miss Coynte of Greene" by T. Williams is presented in the article. We use L. V. Karasev's methodology ("ontological approach") which is related to the analysis of key extracts and central oppositions such as Life-Death, Masculine-Feminine, American-Afroamerican and etc.
