I. N. Zhukov: He called Soviet children pioneers

The article characterizes the personality of a prominent Soviet teacher of the first half of the XX century Innokenty Nikolaevich Zhukov (1875-1948) and an analysis of his multifaceted organizational and practical educational activities is given. The teacher is shown as one of the prominent scoutmasters and, at the same time, as the organizer of the All-Union pioneer organization. Zhukov proposed the word pioneer itself to designate members of the children's communist organization. I. N. Zhukov is also shown as a writer, author of children's adventure books with a pedagogical bias; as a cultural figure and sculptor who, through his work, contributed to solving the tasks of educating the younger generation that were relevant for his time. The article is dedicated to the 150th anniversary of I. N. Zhukov.
