The article examines the ideas of the philosophy of culture of G. Rickert in the context of his philosophy of life. The main emphasis is placed on considering the problem of values in the context of the Baden school of neo-Kantianism. The key point is to present an interpretation regarding the division of sciences into natural sciences and cultural sciences as a projection of the difference in values. The generalizing and individualizing methods of sciences are developed in substantiating the essence, nature and specificity of the value approach to the perception and analysis of being. The cultural sciences, in turn, are projected in the context of the historical sciences. In this case, the emphasis is placed on distinguishing between the method of attributing to value and evaluation, as a result of which the historical sciences of culture and the philosophy of history are distinguished. Values are presented as a bridge connecting two worlds: the world of eternal values as the highest abstraction, and the world of historical values as a projection of the ideal world, thereby increasing their significance. The phrase that values should not simply have a place in human existence, they fill this existence with meaning, has a determining meaning. Philosophy is interpreted in the spirit of Rickert as an independent kingdom, located beyond the subject and object.
