The idea of nation in blazoning the national heraldry of the Portuguese-speaking countries

The article deals with the study of the lexical means of the verbalization of the national idea on the basis of the texts of blazoning the national heraldry of the Portuguese-speaking countries, containing the semantic units of the authorities, territories and population/people. There is stated that the classical symbols of the authorities are totally absent, the territory is symbolized by the means of the images of flora, fauna, landscape, large constructions and administrative division of the country; the symbolism of the population/people is reduced to the images of the weapon and working tools with the use of which people protect the sovereignty of their country and create its economic well-being.
