The purpose of the article is to carry out the philosophical problematization of urban identity as an integral and essential component of the cultural and anthropogenic landscape, which is important for the flow of human "everyday life", the sphere of manifestation of individual self-realization. The analysis of the body of texts and the views of researchers is carried out. The methodology is based on: 1) the semiotic concept of culture, which allows, firstly, to explore the cultural landscape in the process of its embodiment in sign-symbolic systems and cultural-anthropological codes; 2) as well as the interpretation and understanding of the concept of the natural and cultural urban environment as a subsystem element in the cultural and historical types of the cultural landscape, the genesis of which is relevant to the design and mental activity of a person and goes back to the early practices of material and spiritual production. This makes it possible to achieve the identification of the architectural and landscape space (and the urban cultural landscape, respectively) as an integral phenomenon mastered in the utilitarian, semantic and symbolic practices of man, and urban identity as an integral and essential component of an integral cultural and anthropogenic environment. As a result of the study, the architectural and landscape space is reflected as an important part of urban planning policy related to the creation of an ecologically safe and aesthetically expressive environment that is comfortable for human living in a wide range of different forms of its favorable representation, including the formation of an individual image of the city. Also, the article substantiates the original ideas tested in the author's design developments in architectural design, arrangement of the cultural landscape environment of Belgorod; the ambiguity of urbanization processes in the context of their impact on the cultural landscape in general and on the urban landscape in particular was revealed and comprehended, and a “proactive mechanism” was proposed to overcome these negative trends; the necessity is proved and an integral approach to the transformation of the arrangement and cultivation of the urban environment is proposed, taking into account the design solution of landscape problems, sociocultural needs and the needs of the townspeople, to the extent that the population itself needs such solutions.
