The pure cultures of organotrophic bacteria (8 strains) were isolated from the water of the coastal zone of Lake Baikal and identified. The strains are related to the genera Brevibacterium (4 strains), Pseudomonas (2 strains), Aeromicrobium (1 strain) and Agrococcus (1 strain). Cultures are able to use a wide range of organic substrates.
