Ideology of masculinity in the context of social dynamics: key trends (article 1)

The article represents the first part of the study devoted to the problematic of masculine ideology in the context of modern social processes. The logic of the authors is largely based on opposition to the liberal approach, primarily the concept of hegemonic masculinity. The research methodology involves an appeal to the concept of passionarity, based on which the most sensitive object of the influence of masculine ideology are harmonious individuals, who, due to their quantitative dominance, largely predetermine the strategic and qualitative potential of a particular society. Modern gender transformations, led by the Western world, are moving towards discrediting traditional masculinity, neutralizing sexual differences and promoting androgyny, as well as legitimizing non-traditional sexual minorities. As a result, the harmonics of Western society are socialized not so much in the direction of the heroic ideal, but in the direction of the sub-passionary ideal, which is reflected in a certain kind of domestic political problematic.
