The problem of adaptation of children with a general underdevelopment of speech to a preschool educational institution is considered. As a way to solve it, game training is proposed, the psychological mechanisms of the corrective effect of the game are analyzed, the functions of a psychologist in this process are described. It is noted that difficulties encountered in children during the period of adaptation can lead to maladaptation, manifested in violations of discipline, non-observance of the rules and roles in game and educational activities and conflict relationships with peers and educators. It is concluded that the dialogue between the child and the adult through the adoption, reflection and verbalization of the child’s freely expressed feelings in the game becomes the main mechanism of corrective action in game trainings.
