The characteristic of the immunobiological properties of the zoonotic strain of chlamydia "AMK-16" isolated from the pathological material of an aborted goat is presented. During the research, it was found that this strain is pathogenic for laboratory animals, causing 100 % death of white mice with the intranasal method of infection, 71.6 % - death with intraperitoneal infection and 28.3 % - death of mice with subcutaneous injection. Similar tests on guinea pigs have shown that the strain "AMK-16" is most pathogenic with the intranasal method of introducing infectious material and causes the death of 25 % of animals. The strain "AMK-16" has pronounced antigenic properties and causes the production of specific chlamydial antibodies in immunized animals, and the most effective effect activating the activity of the humoral immune system of vaccinated animals is achieved in the complex of the antigen with an adjuvant. The study of the immunogenicity of the strain "AMK-16" showed that it is able to cause the development of specific immunity to chlamydia infections in animals.
